A vintage 78 rpm 10" record, c.1949-50 on the RARE red Arlington label, #201, Bill Matthews Ballardiers with Stick Evans Combo. This is a very rare and important recording to the musical history of American and early rock & roll. Side A is a mediocre ballad, very much representative of the time, "Please Give My Heart a Break"

It is side B that is fascinating! One of the earliest known uses of the term "rock and roll" as a singular and complete song title of a clearly R&B early rock song. It is very 'Bee-Boppy.' Lots more about the origins of rock and roll and earliest coinage of the term on Wikipedia. If you're not sure about the import and rarity of this item, look it up BEFORE you buy!
The music itself and the artist are not as important as the historical signfigance on this one.
