INDEED ONE OF A KIND, RARE VINTAGE EARLY 60's MOD, GLOSSY, LACQUERED LEATHER BELT, AUTHENTIC COUTURE ITEM FROM FRANCE MADE FOR AND BY HERMES FOR THE LAUNCHING OF THE HERMES PERFUME BY THE SAME NAME

THE HOUSE OF HERMES LAUNCHED ITS FIRST PERFUME "CALECHE" EXACTLY IN 1961, THE YEAR OF MINIMALISM IN FRENCH FASHION, THE TIME OF THE UNCONVENTIONAL COURREGES, THE LAUNCHING OF CELINE'S FIRST FASHION SCARVES AND OUTERWEAR. HERMES LAUNCHED THE PERFUME AND WITH IT A LIMITED EDITION OF WOMEN'S ACCESSORIES, BEARING THE NAME OF THE NEWLY LAUNCHED PERFUME: *CALECHE*. THE BELTS WERE SIMPLY MARKED...*CALECHE*, POSSIBLY PART OF A LUXURY SET/BOX ACCOMPANYING THE PERFUME. IT HAS BEEN IN MY FAMILY AS PERHAPS ONE OF MY MOTHER'S LITTLE PURCHASES. THE BELT IS PART OF AND ASSOCIATED WITH THAT MOMENT IN FASHION HISTORY AND THE HOUSE OF HERMES.
Everything is unusual about this belt, the pale corn yellow color with the 3 accent color inserts speak of the early French MOD style. It closes with a hook that fits right into the holes, adjusting to different waist sizes FROM XS TO MEDIUM.
Measures 32 3/4" by 1.5" wide. Made entirely of fine leather, outer layer is lacquered (patent as we call it now) and impeccable in all ways, inner leather has darkened due to age and has a surface crack, (on the inner lining only!) of this incredibly soft, glove quality lining!Will not affect wearability at all and is inconsequential when it comes to such a RARE item! The item is extremely rare if not unique, what is the likelihood that anyone who bought the Hermes set still has the belt? Close to...none?! It is my utmost pleasure to find and research these rare couture pieces, I should open a museum...but for now, here it is, for your delight:)...mostly.

I ship Canada Post, usually AIR MAIL. Other shipping methods also available but not preferred...usually more expensive and subject to too much delay in the US customs.

THE ITEMS ARE SHIPPED FROM CANADA and promptly! Please allow reasonable TRANSIT TIME to reach your destination, keeping in mind that nobody is in control of customs delays or your local delivery! I appreciate your patience as delays in customs are inevitable.

PICK UP the item from your local post office if it has not been delivered to your door. It is YOUR responsibility. If item is returned because it has not been picked up within the 2 weeks of its arrival, it is your responsibility to pay for the second shipping cost.

Insured ITEMS LOST OR DAMAGED IN TRANSIT will be fully reimbursed ONLY upon reimbursment from the carrier company, NOT BEFORE. I will gladly take immediate steps to report the damage or loss and offer my full support throughout the process.

NOTE! The carrier company ONLY opens lost item investigations after 45 days from the shipping date AND carriers require proof of damage or loss before processing refund. Your private phone number is required by carriers conducting the "lost item" investigation. The reimbursement of insurance for a lost item is a process, requires anytime between 7-30 days depending on the cooperation of your local post office. Once the insurance is paid, I will reimburse the Buyer through Paypal. If the item is reported as "delivered" by your local post office, further requests for refund will be denied...obviously!
