Rare Vintage Lady Diana and Prince Charles Royal Wedding Commemorative Tin 1981
What a great collectible, commemorating the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana.
The underside and also the inside bottom of this tin is marked:
PRODUCT OF SCOTLAND Walkers pure butter shortbread petticoat tails 400 g. It includes the ingredients of the cookies (no longer in the tin but I bet they tasted great!) TO COMMEMORATE THE MARRIAGE OF H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LADY DIANA SPENCER JULY 29TH 1981 JOSEPH WALKER ABERLOUR-ON-SPEY SCOTLAND.
The lid of the container has the Royal Stewart Tartan as a background and a beautiful picture of the couple standing in front of what I believe is Buckingham Palace. The original net weight label is still on the tin and is a plus for serious collectors. The lid fits very snugly and is easy to remove. There's a dent on the top right of the lid with a deeper scratch on the corner. There are also some other light scratches present. The inside is really clean, there is some slight oxidation appearing in a few areas and also on the underside. Apart from the flaws I've mentioned, the over-all condition is very good for an item of it's vintage age.. 31 years old!
The measurements are approximately 6-1/2" x 6-1/2" x 3".
I've only found one of this exact container on-line. It sold for much more than mine and was in really poor, beat up condition. I believe my price is very fair for such a rare item, but I'm open to and will consider best offers.
