This exquisite pendant, that is the focal point of this beautiful necklace, is Regency Rose Plume Agate that has had a frame of onyx (at least that is what we believe it to be) applied to it. The technique used is referred to as Intarsia (also know as pietre dure) which is an inlay process where the "frame and backing are fitted around the "picture". No mater the technical names this pendant is absolutely drop dead gorgeous period.
Regency Rose Plume Agate comes from Oregon and is absolutely stunning. It is so named for the multi-colored plumes of "smoke" captured in this gorgeous gem stone. The colors can range from white, yellow, gold, orange, pink, red, and black colored plumes. As a slice is taken of these beautiful gem stones it is as if a fire has had its smoke captured in time for all to see and enjoy the intricate patterns formed. The pattern captured in this abstract pendant is beautiful.
The "wire" that is used to "hang" this stunning picture around your neck is comprised of interestingly shaped Yellow Picture Jasper, 2 Top Gem quality (AAA) faceted onyx "coins", and sterling silver beads. All of this is kept safely around your neck by a sterling silver "S" hook.
