The front of the purse is made from genuine antique silver  wire  that was salvaged from medieval costumes form BALKANS

I've purchased this purse in 1998 in a small store in the art colony seaside town of Rockport, MA.
In the corner of the tiny store I saw a refugee from war-torn Serbia, who was creating these beautiful purses.
The front is made from genuine antique pure   silver  wire  that was salvaged from medieval costumes. That is what makes this purse so very unique. It is one of a kind in the world. The back, trim, and handle are made from butter soft black leather. The inside is lined and has "ALBANO" written on the label. It is not related to the shoe manufacturer but rather is the trademark  of the artist.
The silver work is actually a woven design made with real high grade fine silver wire. It was cut from a costume that was salvaged during the war in the Balkans. Look at the close up for details of the weave.
The purse measures approx. 9" top to bottom and 8" wide at the top. It is 2" thick at the bottom.
In the last 15 years I used this purse only twice, going to Santa Fe Opera. Many people complimented me on this purse .
Recently ,I've moved and I have no place to wear such a beautiful purse.
It is almost new, and is in excellent condition. There are few " creases " on the back ( probably because of moving 4 times in  last 13 years). See pictures for details.
I've paid $289 for it. I think it should be even more expensive now, since the cost of silver has dramatically increased. There is no way to weigh the silver content but it is substantial. Likewise there is no marking stating the grade of the silver. However a jeweler has looked at the metal and has remarked that it seems to be very pure since it is more flexible than sterling would be. Sold as is.
