These coffee beans come directly from the Selva Negra Coffee Estate in Nicaragua. This coffee is sustainable coffee, Rainforest Alliance certified, organically grown, bird friendly and shade grown, in the highlands of Nicaragua's Matagalpa region. The quintessential Nicaraguan Estate coffee has a perfect triangular balance of body, flavor and acidity. It's grown micro region in the Maltagalpa area with a very unique soil and climate. This coffee is highly dependant on the roast. The depth of this cup tends to increase as the coffee cools. Selva Negra is a sustainable coffee plantation that welcomes tourists! From the food on the table in the lakeside restaurant to the electricity in the quaint half-timbered cabins, everything needed to run this little kingdom is produced at Selva Negra.

Our expectation is that with this information you’ll be able to have the best quality coffee you can have. Many people ask us if they should refrigerate the coffee after opening. You don’t need to do that at all. Just keep the coffee in a dark and dry place (like the credenza) and this should work just fine. For best results, we recommend that you use the coffee within 6 months of the roasting date and within 30 days after opening the bag.
