Country Decor
Authentic, Shar-A Soda advertising shipping sales crate, circa 1940-50. Excellent used condition and a lovely potential primitive or country and historical home decor item.
This soda was made in Washaura County, Wisconsin, specifically in Wautoma by the Washaura Bottling Company. The last time the city's "old timers" recall seeing the soda is in the early 1950s. This crate is as found in Wautoma, Wisconsin.
The soda was sold in 7 oz. and quart size bottles. This crate held quart size bottles from the size of the markings at the inside bottom.
The crate size is approx. 17" x 11-1/2" x 12-1/2" tall.
The crate still has it's original metal reinforcements. It is missing a center divider, as seen in the pictures, the slots are on the bottom sides.
All sides are shown in photos. All panels are well attached. Occasional slivers in wood and some bumps. If you zoom in on the photos, you will be able to see any minimal defects. Colors of font type are bright and very readable.
The $1.00 deposit referred to was for the return of the crate.
Bonus: Also included with the crate is one 7 oz. Shara Soda bottle, empty.
