Silver Plate Fancy Sheffield Toast Rack, 6 7/8 inches long, 5 3/8 inches high, marked “Savory, London” and 2 triangle and cross hallmarks on top of center bar, “182” is scratched into the underside of the base, made in England, probably late 1800’s-early 1900’s, good condition but looks like it may have taken a tumble at some time, as the handle seems just a little off and the feet on one end seem to be pushed in slightly, but no breaks to any of the solder points, this is older silver plate process with the copper underneath the plating showing through on the edges of the base and on the high spots of the decorated handle and cabriole feet, very well made and a heavy quality piece, possibly meant to be used in a hotel, 6 slots for the toast, a wonderful Victorian design, could use a better polish to highlight the details.
