VINTAGE STERLING SILVER CALLING CARD CASE –
BPOE ELKS CLUB
This beautiful sterling silver item is a mid-century (1900-1940) piece of history. It has a BPOE (Elks Club) emblem decorating the top. It has a loop on top to which you can attach a chain. When you open it, you can see the beautiful embossing of the outside scrolling.
Printed on the inside is: "Sterling / Patd Aug 3 09 / Alfred Schickerling Jew’l’y Co / 51 Maiden Lane, N.Y.”
The piece measures 2 1/8 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. The front has a raised Elk head medallion with a navy blue background and a red star. The detail on the embossing is exquisite. On the back are the initials: (left) S or L (center) E (right) A in beautiful script.
