TheraPet™ brings light emitting diode (LED) light therapy to your pet for a proven, safe, natural treatment at an affordable cost. Light therapy, or phototherapy, as it is sometimes called, has been researched for over 40 years and studies show it has very powerful therapeutic effects. Studies have also shown multiple positive changes at the cellular level with the use of red and infrared light therapy. Some of the proven effects and benefits of using TheraPet™ for your pet include:
Bring pain relief to your treasured pet without medication
Natural healing and inflammation relief without side effects
Relieves hip dysplasia pain and arthritic joint pain
Enhances blood circulation
Recommended by veterinarians
Safe for continual use
Increased vascular circulation by the formation of new capillaries
Significant increase in wound healing with less formation of scar tissue
Reduction in edema
Stimulation of collagen production
Relief of minor aches and pains
Increases RNA and DNA synthesis
Stimulation of trigger and acupuncture points
Provides temporary relief of minor aches and pains in muscles and joints
Aids in the relaxation of muscles by increasing blood circulation to the area
Here are a few of the many uses for the TheraPet™ LED Light Therapy unit:
General Arthritis pain, bursitis, bruising, burns, edema, deep muscle problems, hematomas, inflammation, tight or sore muscles and infections.
Abscesses, bone spurs, inflammation, navicular, ringbone and laminitis.
Leg and Body
Ankle problems, bone chips, hock problems, inflammation, ligament soreness, tendon problems, sore backs, splints, strains, stifle issues, sprains, swelling, shoulder pain, hip pain, sore backs, sore necks, salivary gland problems, wounds, cuts, scrapes and for stimulating trigger points and acupuncture points.
Accelerated Tissue Repair And Cell Growth
Photons of light from light emitting diodes penetrate deeply into tissue and accelerate cellular reproduction and growth. The light increases the energy available to the cell so that the cell can take on nutrients faster and get rid of waste products. As a result of exposure to the LED light, the cells of tendons, ligaments and muscles are repaired faster.
Faster Wound Healing
LED light stimulates fibroblast development (fibroblasts are the building blocks of collagen, which is predominant in wound healing) in damaged tissue. Collagen is the essential protein required to replace old tissue or to repair tissue injuries. As a result, Light Therapy is effective on open wounds and burns.
Reduced Fibrous Tissue Formation
Light Therapy reduces the formation of scar tissue following tissue damage from cuts, scratches, burns or surgery.
LED light therapy has an anti-edemic effect as it causes vasodilation, but also because it activates the lymphatic drainage system (drains swollen areas). As a result, there is a reduction in swelling caused by bruising or inflammation.
LED light therapy has a high beneficial effect on nerve cells which block pain transmitted by these cells to the brain and which decreases nerve sensitivity. Also, due to less inflammation, there is less edema and less pain. Another pain blocking mechanism involves the production of high levels of pain killing chemicals such as endorphins and enkephalins from the brain and adrenal gland.
Improved Vascular Activity
LED light will significantly increase the formation of new capillaries in damaged tissue that speeds up the healing process, closes wounds quickly and reduces scar tissue. Additional benefits include acceleration of angiogenesis, which causes temporary vasodilatation, an increase in the diameter of blood vessels.
Increased Metabolic Activity
LED therapy creates higher outputs of specific enzymes, greater oxygen and food particle loads for blood cells.
Improved Nerve Function
Slow recovery of nerve functions in damaged tissue can result in numbness and impaired limbs. LED light will speed up the process of nerve cell reconnection and increase the amplitude of action potentials to optimize muscle action.
LED light has a direct effect on immunity status by stimulation of immunoglobulins and lymphocytes. Light Therapy is absorbed by chromophores (molecule enzymes) that react to LED light. The enzyme flavomono-nucleotide is activated and starts the production of ATP (adenosine-tri-phosphate), which is the major carrier of cell energy and the energy source for all chemical reactions in the cells.
Trigger Points and Acupuncture Points
LED therapy stimulates muscle trigger points and acupuncture points on a non-invasive basis providing musculoskeletal pain relief
Here is the recommended dosage for using TheraPet™ on your pet:
Apply the treatment to the area of concern, after approximately 10 minutes then move to the next area in proximity. You may treat the same area several times a day allowing 3 to 4 hours between treating the same specific area.
One or more treatments per day.
Multiple treatments to the same specific area should be separated by approximately 3 to 4 hours.
Joints flexed to near right angle if possible.
Begin treatments with the area most affected i.e. most pain, and then treat other areas
