The underside is marked Hermann Franzen, Konigs-Allee 42, Dusseldorf. A laurel wreath
encircles 1820, symbolizing the year that the Franzen company was founded.

This item is a stylized ashtray with metallic gold rim and tiny gold flakes in the glaze inside.
The flakes give an eye-catching iridescence to this lovely piece. The underside is a glazed
white porcelain with the Franzen identification in gold lettering.
