Tyrolean Cloth Purse with Porcelain Floral Hand Painted Plaque, Vintage & Rare
Here is a fabulous vintage purse from the 1950s, made by Tyrolean of NY.
Tyrolean was mostly known for their amazing lucite purses, they also made fabric and leather bags. They are RARE. This particular vintage purse has the hard metal frame indicative of most Tyroleans. Shuts tight with a round chunky disc clasp. The fabric (I believe) is "peau de soi". And it is embellished with a gorgeous handpainted porcelain oval plaque, which is securely attached to the body of the purse.
Measures 11 inches (at widest point) x 5.5 inches high x 2 inches thick. Handle drop is approximately 6 inches.
It is lined with black taffeta and has an interior mirror across the top. It also has a small interior side pocket and black matching coin purse. It is pristine. Purse has minimal wear to the metal.
Having mentioned all the above this is a vintage purse and has been used.
