Unusual American folk art art tramp art, prison art carving of a three tiered trinket or jewelry box circa 1890s. The work is made from old cigar boxes many of the panels still have traces of the labels one on the inside of the bottom part of the box shows lady liberty. Another reads knickerbocker. The box is carved on the outside to look like brick. On each tier there is a drawer that opens. In very good condition with some light nicks from age and use, please see photos. The lighter part that you see which is the top of the box had a paper label that was stained over when the box was made. Since then much of the paper has come off leaving the lighter part,some of the stain paper still remains. Found in New York.
