Vallerysthal of France produced this Jadite Squirrel on an Acorn covered dish. The company was producing animal dishes from the turn of the century and this particular item was shown in their catalog in 1914. (Shown on Pg. 66 of "Collectors Encyclopedia of Milk Glass" by Betty and Bill Newbound.) The mold detail is wonderful on both lid and base. The base is in the shape of an oak leaf and gives this dish excellent stability. Beautiful heavy piece of Jadite Glass

Both top and bottom are in excellent condition. There are a few small chips on the interior lip that holds the cover in place (see enlarged photo). It is unsigned. Standing 6 1/2" tall with lid in place, it measures 7 3/4" long and 4 3/16" wide.
