More about this item
Large Victorian trade card - GIRL SEWING A TEAR IN HER DOLL'S CLOTHING - Julius Lansburgh Carpet Fuirnisher, 315 Seventh St., Washington, D. C.
The card measures 4 x 6" and is printed on slightly slick medium-weight stock.
The front has a charming chromolithograph of a little girl ding a thread and needle as she attempts to repair a large tear in the pantaloons of her doll. The details are rendered in considerable detail and the colors are rich and vivid. The background is printed in gold ink.
Undated - but probably 1880s.
CONDITION: Very Good. The back has residue of mastic from the card once being tipped in an old album, and there is paper loss to the surface at the bottom back (not affecting the front). The front has slight rubbing and slight yellowing to the ad area at the bottom but is overall very nicely preserved. See the detail photos.
We use accepted bookseller's grading standards: Fine, Near Fine, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor. We grade items conservatively.
