The Minolta Autopak 400-X was one of Minolta's last cameras for Kodapak film cartridges. It was also a late camera model concerning the use of a selenium meter. The smart metering facility switches the shutter speed automatically from 1/45 sec. to 1/90 sec. and vice versa. The long shifting travel of the shutter release button serves a mechanical low-light warning system: The viewfinder image becomes red before exposure when the meter indicates insufficient light. In the now 35 years old cameras this feature might not work anymore. The wheel in the left upper corner of the front side serves to hide the long shutter release button.
