Vintage FarFan Mexico Necklace Sterling Turquoise Parure 40s Necklace Bracelet Earrings Plateria Far Fan Hecho En Mexico Full Parure Complete Set Hallmarked Sterling Silver and Turquoise 1940s Pre 1948 Woven Turquoise Cabochons Bezel Set Matching Set This gorgeous three piece Parure set consists of a necklace, bracelet and earrings. It is signed on the necklace and bracelet Hecho En Mexico 925 in a circle with FARFAN in the center. Plateria FarFan and this identical hallmark are shown in the Little Book of Mexico Silver Trade and Hallmarks (2006 edition) on page 151; Plateria FarFan was a silver manufacturer located in Mexico City. This set has no Eagle Mark and it was purchased in Arizona close to 60 years ago, so it was most likely made in the early 1940s prior to 1948 when they began using the Eagle Mark. This set of Sterling Silver and Turquoise Jewelry design is all hand wrought and shows magnificent craftsmanship with thick flat woven intertwined sterling chain links with raised bezel set turquoise cabochon stones. In the center of every other link spaced approximately every 3/8 of an inch is a raised round turquoise stone. The clasps are a tongue and box closure and work fine. The combined set weighs 4.1 ounces on my Postage Scale, which converts to 116.23 grams. I will describe each of the pieces below. Necklace – choker necklace measures approximately 16 1/2 inches long 3/4 inch wide Bracelet – The bracelet in this set has a sturdy loop attached below the main bracelet, this is from the Spanish influence and it is where charms would be attached. If you have a favorite sterling silver charm that expresses your personality you can add it to the bracelet. The bracelet measures 8 1/4 inches long (including the closure) and 3/4 of an inch wide. Earrings - Screw Back Earrings 3/4 inch long 5/8 inch wide. The earrings are unmarked, but obviously match perfectly to the necklace and bracelet. This set is in excellent vintage condition with a wonderful patina that only comes with age and wear. Every piece is in excellent working condition. This early set has superb workmanship and is quite rare. This is a unique set that will continue to increase in value and would make an excellent addition to your vintage Mexican Jewelry. It looks stunning on. This will be sent Priority Mail box with Tracking/Delivery Confirmation and Insurance.
