Gorgious Gorham Silverplate 3 piece Butter Dish with Original Sticker and Marked Stamped EP (electro-plated) YC 1760. In excellent condition, this vintage serving piece just needs a good polish. Includes original glass butterdish insert.  This Gorham Silverplated Butter Dish is one of the Vintage Collectibles sold by Andrea's Creations.

HISTORY:

In 1865 the firm was incorporated as the Gorham Manufacturing Co., and in the same year electroplating was introduced. From the time electoplating was initiated, plated wares were stamped with anchor. The word 'electroplated' was rarely used. After the Second World War, 'YC' was stamped on electroplate. This butter dish is marked EP for electroplated and I believe that "1760" refers to the pattern. The original silver sticker is marked Gorham Silverplate.
