This stunning large dimensional enameled black and gold Daisy style flower brooch is made by Marvella. It is signed on the back Marvella © in a circle. The Marvella name was first used in 1911. Marvella was purchased by the Crystal Brands Jewelry Group in 1982, which included Monet and Trifari. This is most likely from the 1960s..

This jet black enamel brooch/pin measures approximately 3 1/8 inches by 2 1/2 inches. It is 1/2 inch deep. It is a dark black although in the pictures it reflects a bluish shade. It is in very good vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged pictures with only a few tiny spots of enamel loss on the edge, you don't see it without the magnification because the petals are edged in gold anyway (see arrows in picture). Any other marks are reflections. You could easily touch up the spots with black polish. The petals curve both up and down to add dimension. The back section where the stem is attached to the flower has a bit of play in it, but I believe that is original to the piece. The back is a textured gold. The center of the flower is made up of a bright shiny gold cluster of spikes that are individually placed in a circle.

This simple and elegant flower is the perfect brooch to add to your collection of quality vintage jewelry. It would make a great gift for any flower lover and would look perfect on that little black dress.
