Vintage Very Rare 1948 Virginia Metalcrafters Butterfly Bush Leaf Dish, This piece is VERY RARE and much sought after by collectors. It was designed by Oskar Hansen and featured in Martha Stewart Living in Oct 2010. The butterfly bush leaf dish measures 10.5" long and is 2.5" wide and weighs almost 2lbs. The mark on the back is Virginia Metalcrafters Insignia Copyright 1948 Butterfly Bush and is numbered 3-21. Because they are no longer in business, Virgina Metalcrafters hand cast brass, iron, aluminum, bronze, and pewter pieces are highly collectible, particulary the "leaves" series created by Hansen. This piece could use some cleaning, but I will leave that up to the new owner to determine how much. It is in excellent condition. The back has some wear around the VM mark and 3-21, but can still read them. There are very few tiny surface marks on back. This is a great piece to add to any collection.
