More about this item
This is a lovely small tea cup and saucer set made by Wade Irish Porcelain, County Armagh, Ireland. This set can be seen on page 123 of Ian Warner and Mike Posgay’s book The Wonderful World of Wade Ireland. It is described as a tea cup (model I.P.100) and saucer (model I.P. 101). The cup is 2 7/8” tall and 2 3/8” at top. It measures 3.5” wide to outer edge of its handle. The saucer is 5” in diameter. Both pieces have the wonderful green glaze and shamrock details that defines Wade Irish Porcelain. The interior of the cup has the lovely blue tones for which they are noted. The cup has mark type 29 and the saucer has mark type 32. These marks date the set to late 1950s through 1960s. Both pieces are in excellent condition and are free of chips or cracks. The glaze is clear and glossy. Wade pieces such as these are getting hard to find and I hope you will add this set to your collection. Thank you for looking. Item location: B 10
