Antique bird brooch carved bakelite creamed corn

Antique figural creamed corn bakelite brooch in the shape of a tropical bird has fantastic carved and painted details and an embedded and glued old clasp. The front is lacquered, which made it really hard to take a pic head-on due to glare, and the color doesn’t come out just right. If you can in your mind's eye combine creamed corn with butterscotch, you'll have the right color.

It measures 3-3/16" h x 1-7/8" w x 1/8" thick not including the solid but crazily contorted clasp. I've never seen another like it.

Condition is excellent for its age--some of the paint has gone missing, but it's not fatal. There's also a deeper-than-normal scratch on the tail but it still is considered surface as it doesn't penetrate deep enough to make that area vulnerable at all. It’s a really fun and fabulous brooch.
