AMAZING Vintage c1938 COMPOSITE NANCY DOLL - by ARRANBEE R&B USA - embossed "X" in circle back of neck - damage to 2 fingers on one hand
Dimensions: 15 inches tall
Condition: Very Good Vintage/pre-owned. Clean, no soiling marks on composite body/face, only some minor cracking in paint in spots around neck, and a bit of rubbing wear to paint at leg joints (see photos). She is missing the tips of two of fingers on one hand with what looks like a dab of clear shellac applied to prevent further damage (see photo). Very light skin tone. Dark brown human hair wig, braided in pigtails, firmly in place and in very good condition. I believe her outfit is original as Nancy came with different fabric print dresses with a pinafore apron. There is a soiled spot on the front of the apron on the shoulder strap (see photo) but it should clean up well. No other soiling. She has panties & white socks and white laced shoes. The shoes could be replacements as they are vinyl. They fit well! Elastic wrist cuffs, & panty waistband has lost elasticity over the years. Back of dress & apron fasten with metal snaps. She has real lashes on her sleepy eyelids. Blue eyes open & close well. She is string jointed including her head and her head swivels in various positions. Her joints do squeak a little when moved but mine would too at her advanced age!! Embossed "X" in a circle on the back of her neck just under her hairline; one of the marks Arranbee used in that timeframe. She shows 4 upper teeth, and her lips are red. Very pretty face! She is quite heavy at 1 1/4 lbs.
