Here for your consideration is an OUTSTANDING, Fisher Price Little People #991 Circus Train! This is the original 4 car version manufactured between 1973-78. This particular offering is COMPLETE, with its original WOOD/plastic Little People and box! It is in MINTY MINT condition! I've NEVER seen a #991 4 Car Circus Train Playset in this good of condition. All of the circus cars possess their original, clean, MINTY lithos. The plastic surfaces are FLAWLESS (e.g. no chews on the hooks and eyes, no "dings," no rust on the bolts in the flat car---NADA!). The only thing I can find amiss is a couple of nibbles on the very end of the original pull string. I'm sorely tempted to tuck this "baby" into my personal collection but my husband would probably kill me---we can barely navigate our basement as it is for all the toys!

Composing this STUNNING playset are:

1 VHTF engine w/ original string that heartily "toots" when the train whistle is pressed (MINTY MINT; pull string, as described above, has a couple of "nibbles" on the end of the it; everything else is GORGEOUS!!!! Remember, these are the original lithos and my pictures have NOT been modified--just cropped; if EVER an engine looked BRAND NEW, this is the one!);

1 VHTF blue cage car door that converts to a ramp to let the animals depart (NEAR MINT-MINT--some soiling on one of the cage bars and on the lower edge of the giraffe litho on the cage door side; I believe this will come off with a careful cleaning and then it, too, will be MINTY MINT!);

1 VHTF green flat car (MINTY MINT);

1 HTF red caboose (MINTY MINT).

I've provided numerous photos so you can judge for yourself the exemplary quality of these train cars and their original lithos.

Accompanying this Circus Train playset are a number of appealing animals and WOOD/plastic Little People:

1 HTF blue elephant w/toe nails!!! (NEAR MINT-MINT--bold facial features; ears and tail totally intact; minimal discoloration on elephant's trunk, body, and legs due to age; only thing I can spot is one, pin-head size brown spot next to the last toe nail on the elephant's rear right leg; I don't know if this will come off with a thorough cleaning or not but I feel obligated to mention it);

1 lion with dark brown mane and circle on belly (NEAR MINT--facial features are GORGEOUS; rear legs are a little loose but still hold a pose; tail intact and devoid of chews);

1 VHTF monkey with tail (MINTY MINT--minimal edge wear to feet; facial features are robust; possesses complete tail with NO CHEWS! All joints are firm; this is by far the best monkey I've seen in years!);

1 VHTF gray bear (MINTY MINT---GREAT facial features; firm joints throughout; perimeter of oval is totally free of any rubs or scratches; NO CHEWS ANYWHERE!);

1 RARE light tan giraffe with brown spots (NEAR MINT-MINT--couple of miniscule rubs to brown spots on front left flank and right rear flank; the tail is totally intact and devoid of any chews; no edge wear on the giraffe's hooves; tiny balls on top of horns are solidly in place and free of any chews; rest of brown spots are 100% intact; front legs are a tad loose but still easily hold a pose);

1 VHTF short, WOOD/PLASTIC blue engineer w/ cap (VG-VG+--this guy is the only one I currently have in stock; he exhibits some dulling of paint on his body due to age along with a brown stain or rub on his left shoulder and some blue ink (?) stains on his right back; he also has a couple of pin-head size rubs to his mustache; his cap is perfect; I'm willing to insert an ALL PLASTIC engineer in his stead that is in MINTY MINT condition; I was trying to honor Fisher Price's specifications which called for all WOOD/plastic LP);

1 VHTF short, WOOD/PLASTIC red clown w/yellow pointed hat (EXC++-NEAR MINT-some roughness along the upper margin of some of the yellow scallops on the clown's hat; these may have been caused by a child's tooth but I cannot detect any teethmarks; also, one, pin-head size rub to nose and some minimal dulling of paint due to age; the paint is all intact); and

1 VHTF short, WOOD/PLASTIC ringmaster w/moustache and top hat (EXC++-NEAR MINT--minor roughness on edge of hat brim and one teensy tooth mark on top edge of hat; the latter is hard to see; I had to hold the ringmaster up to within 3" of my eyes and rotate him in the light to find this; the minor roughness on the edge of the hat brim I found via touch).

Last, but not least, this playset comes with its original box. It's missing one flap on one end, displays a few creases, a tad amount of edge wear, and the remnants of the original price tag. All of the lithos on the box are vividly colored (no fading) and no rubs are present. The biggest flaw, in my estimation, is that someone cut this box open with a knife on one end. Nevertheless, if I were to judge this box on a scale from 1-10 with 10 being PERFECT, I would rate it a 9.0/10.0.

This set has defied the passing of time. It's a CLASSIC and one that any "die hard" Fisher Price collector or some lucky child would be proud to own. This is an HEIRLOOM quality playset---one to pass down through the generations in your family.

I've tried to be as thorough and honest about this set as I can. I'd rather be "nit-picky" than have someone disappointed in what they were purchasing.

I WILL BE THOROUGHLY Q-TIP CLEANING THIS PLAYSET AND ALL OF ITS ACCESSORIES PRIOR TO SENDING IT TO ITS NEW OWNER. I SPEND A MINIMUM OF 1 - 1 1/2 HOURS CLEANING EACH AND EVERY VINTAGE PLAYSET THAT I SELL. I use a variety of cleaning products (e.g. Goo Gone, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, Dawn, Crayon Away, Soft Scrub, Armor All wipes, etc.) to clean my playsets. MY SETS ARE IMMACULATE!

THIS PLAY SET IS NOT PART OF THE RECENT FISHER PRICE RECALL FOR TOYS MANUFACTURED IN CHINA. THIS VINTAGE TOY WAS PRODUCED IN THE GOOD OLD U.S.A. @ 39 YEARS AGO. WHY GIVE A TOY THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE EXCESS LEVELS OF LEAD OR OTHER UNDISCLOSED SUBSTANCES WHEN YOU CAN GIVE A CLASSIC TOY LIKE THIS TO A CHILD?

DUE TO SOME SMALL PARTS, THIS PLAYSET SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN TO CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OF AGE OR TO THOSE CHILDREN WHO ARE STILL MOUTHING THEIR TOYS. ADULT SUPERVISION IS SUGGESTED UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. FISHER PRICE STATES THIS SET IS DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN FROM 2-8 YEARS OF AGE but to be on the safe side, I'd recommend adult supervision for children under 3.

I’ve been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS (including Parcel Post) and UPS Ground. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account.
 

In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.
 

Since Bonanza's shipping calculator does NOT offer Fed Ex Home Delivery as a shipping option, PLEASE DO NOT SEND PAYMENT UNTIL I HAVE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO MANUALLY CHECK THESE RATES AND INSERT THEM INTO YOUR INVOICE. Otherwise, the shipping calculator may overcharge you.
 

Packages traveling to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped Parcel Post via the USPS. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required.
