Very Pretty Vintage Vinyl DOLL Pajama or Nightdress Case - 23 cm tall (9 inches) - Rich Red Velvet Dress/Case - doll by CHILTERN, Made in England - c1960's
This wonderful vinyl doll pajama or nightdress case was made by CHILTERN England, and the info is incised in the back of the dolls neck. Her hair is short curly brunette and rooted, and she has sleeping brown eyes with lashes, a lovely pinky-red rosebud mouth and faint blue eyeshadow highlighting around her eyes. Her cheeks are very gently flushed. Her nails are painted red! Her dress becomes the PJ case and is made from rich soft red velvet with white velvet trim. The underneath base of the dress is a sheer red polyester with a sewn in white zipper. I suspect the dress was home-crafted and the vinyl doll form may've been available to purchase separately and especially made for a PJ/Nightdress case sewing project! A very OOAK (one of a kind) ensemble!! The dress is well-made except for a roughly sewn back seam, perhaps a later repair (see last photo)? There is one tiny seam tear beginning under one arm. There is no fading, no stains and no worn nap. Her arms are jointed and her head turns. The base of the doll, inside the case, is a form with a wide base for sitting (see photo). There are a few minor scuffs on her arms and the tip of her nose has a slight smudge that should wash off. The "skin" on her face is a soft matte texture and near perfect. She is lovely!!! Her dress diameter when spread around her is about 12 inches and she sits approx. 9 inches tall in this position. A lovely vintage Chiltern Doll in very good to excellent condition!
