A Westmoreland Glass #1827 Comport/Mayo with the flat edge (1827-1) from the 1920’s in crystal with hand painted enameled Forget Me Nots in a different color configuration than I have been able to find. Clustered together in groups of 3 with interconnecting gold ring and leaves as they seem to usually be, these are in 3’s, but the clusters are all one color, not one flower each of a different color. I have been unable to find this decoration in this presentation in any of the catalogs or books that I own. But again, it may be a decoration that was never placed in a catalog, an experimental design never marketed or a decorator more or less ’doodling’ with his enamels. Who knows! But it is one of 5 pieces with this decoration I found over the years and are now for sale. The piece measures 2-3/8” high and is 6-3/8” in diameter and is in excellent condition, with just some minor wear on the gold trim. It has a wheel cut star on the bottom and the top of the handle has one of each color Forget Me Knot.
