It is clearly marked on the back:
Winterschlacht Im Osten 1941/42

The medal is approx. 1 3/4" (including the hook for the ribbon_ 
x 1 1/2"

RIBBON IS NOT INCLUDED.

We found this patch a box of military items that we acquired at an estate sale.  We assume it is an original, but can not say 100%.  It is as we found it.  We have made no attempt to clean it.  Being sold as is.  Offers will be considered.
