More about this item
Vintage Westmoreland pattern # 1084 “Argonaut” Shell covered candy dish. You are viewing a Westmoreland pattern # 1084 “Argonaut” Shell (also known as the Dolphin Sea Shell) covered candy dish. This milk glass beauty stands about 6 inches tall and 6 inches wide. The finial on the top is a conical shell while the dish and lid are decorated with a myriad of shells. The three legs are stylized sea serpents but called “dolphins”. This piece is stunning and absolutely without flaw – no chips, flakes, cracks or flea bites. This is “authentic” Westmoreland Glass as witnessed by the stamped “W” “G” on both the base and inside the lid. Unfortunately, the label is no longer present. “I do not profess to be an expert on Glass, Glassware, Silver, etc. and the descriptions put forth are the result of extensive research on each item listed.
