More about this item
These hand turned wooden bowls made from cross-cut logs were popular in the 1950's.
This bowl was originally made to hold nuts. It has lost the center piece.
Still useful and decorative, especially with country kitchen or early Americana decor.
Our pioneer ancestors probably would have taken the bark off,
but it looks wonderfully rustic to me.
Very nice wood grain.
This would make a great base for a repurposing craft project.
Size: about 3 inches tall; rim 9 inches diameter
Condition: Good. No chips or cracks. Missing the center nut-pick holder.
There was originally very old felt on the bottom which I removed.
The finish was so good, I was not sure it was natural wood without viewing the bottom.
(Since it is amazing what they can do with resin casting these days.)
