This is a walnut display case dated from the 1800's. The J. B. Hunter Hardware Company of 60 Summer St, Boston, Mass was in existence from the 1800 to 1830's. This case weighs 30 pounds and measures 19.5L x 27H x 8W inches. There are metal black and gold company name plaques which read the company information I just wrote of on the front door and inside drawer. The front two doors swing open laterally. The right side door has a brass keyhole, I have no key. The left side door has an inside clasp to release to open. Inside has an elaboratre array of brass clasps and hooks to hold and display tools. There are 17 clasps and 6 hooks, a 7 bit stand, a 17 x 6 x 2 draw with flush brass pulls, and an area on the left door with a slatted holder. The rear of the walnut case is tongue and groove or beadboard. The 4 sides are one board each. The 2 sides have large brass handles and the right side has 3 flat hooks. This is a well made display box.
