this is a late 1700s gold weighing scale. At one time belonged to a man named N R Greeley as stamped on the inner lining of the green leather case. The weights are not in their  compartment and the brass cup is in another. The trays are brass and the balance is steel. Embossed on the case is an American Bald eagle holding Arrows. Case closes with brass clasp. it is 7 x 1 x 3 inches and 6.2 ounces.
