a huge 5 pound antique warmer with a turned walnut handle. The handle is 16 inches long with a 3.5 inch copper insert riveted into the vessel. the oval shaped copper vessel is 13.5L x 5.5H x 10W inches. Thus the entire length is 30 inches. The bottom and side are dovetailed with brass binder. There is a swing bale iron handle. The lid is fitted with a 1 inch insertion and has a brass 3 inch swing handle. Both lid and copper vessel are tin lined. Besides a bed warmer this may have been used for low temp cooking or warming vessel within the fireplace. This has been appraised with the date of 1790 due to the craftsmanship. It has been well maintained with no major dents, scratches or repairs.
