More about this item

a side table, accent table, from the 1920s, elaborately carved in the 20s-elegant Gatsby style, featuring cabriole legs and serpentine round top.

I did this one in my 'butter-cream' white, which is the most antique creamy of the 3 shades of white I offer. Here you can see the gentle shimmer of a professional-grade satin lustre finish. I pride myself on authenticity, and you can see the light wear & tear on the flat expanses. The backyard crafters tend to just scuff the edges. The fine consistency of my lacquered paints give me the freedom to get much more authentic and more subtle, softer wear patterns not just on the edges, but everywhere. This is one of the hallmarks of my work.

Here on the knees you can see the original finish peeking through, very realistic. This one is so elegantly carved!

Love this cross-stretcher beneath! It has matching carved accents, and I love that this is a tall circular form, where so many of the console and accent pieces of this era are rectangular. Love the verticality.

These feet are so sweet! They curl into little flat scrolls. This is a classic trait of tables from this era- the undulating serpentine edge. Always comes out great for chic painted stuff.....

So elegant, but has that naive cottage charm. I could not resist painting this one. It has the look!
