This is a huge hand woven oak wood slat basket, and authentic antique. The dimensions are 32L x 23W x 13 H inches to include the 3 inch bent wood handles. It weighs 7 pounds. The bottom woven oak slats are 2 inches wide and continue up the sides and are nailed into the thicker oak rim banding. The side woven slating is .5 inch bands. The bottom has three 1.5 inch thick oak runners that continue up the sides for structural support. The stout bent wood oak handles are woven in and held in place with notched out grips in the handles to the basket frame. This basket is from the mid 1800's and has one place where the .5 inch slat is broken in one corner. This is minimal in a basket of this age. It does not take away from the value, functionality, or decor of the basket and is barely noticeable. There is an area on the bottom where it has been stained dark probably from some clothing dye. Many scrub these out with soap oil and put a finish on them. I left this basket intact with original patina.
