This is a vintage Christmas set from Avon. According to Bud Hastin's Avon Collector's Encyclopedia, this set was a very short issue at Christmas in 1979.

The set was sold with mountain pine fragrance wax chips. These were placed in the base of the tree which has small holes where the fragrance would emanate. The tree was meant to be used later as a canape holder. Toothpicks with cheese or hors d'oeuvres could be placed in the holes for serving. The set also includes salt and pepper shakers in the form of a rag doll and a teddy bear.

The ceramic pieces were made in Brazil by Weiss for Avon with the exception of the tree base which was made in the USA.

The tree, including its base, stands about 9" high. The salt and peppers are 2.25" and 2.5" high.

All pieces are in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, or crazing, and appear to be unused. They will arrive in the original box which is in fair condition. The Styrofoam container inside is fine.
