Monty, I know you’re not seeking a leather cleaner but a cover instead. I have a leather chair my Papillon

• 1st of all there are ’’leather’’ products on the market that don’t exactly HIDE ‘’dog nesting scratches’’ but do and can make them less visible. I used one on hubby’s all leather recliner, I don’t know a Brand Name, because I used the whole bottle and I no longer have it, and our boy no longer goes up there since we got the newer furniture, lol!
• 2ndly there are products on the market called slip covers, some are made out of a cooler cotton, some are made of what is called micro suede. Cotton is a cooler fabric than microsuede is, but microsuede is not as hot as yarn (crocheted covering) for sure! You can find those possibly here or on Amazon, perhaps, too!
• 3rd a local seamstress (yellow pages) or quilter might be able to make you a cover that would compliment the color of your loveseat, and it would be washable if she made it out of cotton or a cotton/poly blend. I made one for my loveseat, here, but it’s out of an all cotton (woven or homespun fabric) fabric that matches the loveseat, took me awhile to find a match, but I did! My cover ONLY covers the (non-attached) seat portion of my loveseat.
• 4th Perhaps You can Buy a quilt that goes with your decor. Make sure the quilt is large enough to drape over the back of your loveseat’s upper back portion of seating, and over the seat portion, itself. If you don’t want it to slip and slide off, PIN elastic (about a half inch wide, you can buy in a roll) to near end corners, all 4 corners of quilt, quilt should be long enough to hang somewhat on BACK and somewhat UNDER in FRONT of loveseat, pinning all 4 elastic bands to quilt ends. Pins and elastic won’t show if you do this right!

Thanks, TwoFriends, for the referral to Surefit.com. I am going to have a Morris chair recovered. I wanted leather but was afraid to because of my pets. Now I have a potential style and can compare prices between surefit and the upholsterer. Surefit might be cheaper, but may not fit mine, so I can have something made for my specific dimensions.

Hi there Monty :) I would suggest one piece slipcovers and a little trick to keep them in place is to cut the “foam noodles” sold for pool toys into pieces that match the size of your furniture and tuck them down in between the cushions and arms and back. It really works. As for where to find. If not here then look at Surefit.com they have covers in a multitude of materials BUT be sure to check their pet covers made to cover seat, back and arms…machine washable and may be just what you need to create harmony between your pet and your sofa.
