Here's the latest from The Cat's Meow:
Well, I've made it to Kansas and I really like it here. It reminds me alot of other places I've lived, where I was very happy, and that has helped. I'm still adjusting to the humidity, which is something I didn't have to deal with in Montana. I don't miss Montana at all - the last several years there were absolute hell - I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of me.
The move was a horror show and there is a posting all about it in the Personal section of the message boards.
I'm having some interesting health issues and I've been up to the hospital so often I feel like I live there. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to see a neurologist and I guess we'll take it from there.
Lots of you have asked about the cat in my avatar. Needless to say, his name was Snowbear. He was born in 1989 and he died in 2001. During that time we had tons of fun and he was my best friend. We had the same birthday and I'd take the day off to spend with him. He developed cancer and I had him put to sleep on June 9, 2001, which was the 28th anniversary of Secretariat's Triple Crown victory. He was the best cat you could ever ask for and I was lucky to have had him for those 12 years. Even though he is gone now, I have tons of wonderful memories and I am still Snowbearsmom.
I do have some sad news. Shortly after we moved into the house Negra died. She fell and hurt herself and one of the dogs killed her. Maybe if I'd been home I could have helped her - I don't know. Three weeks later Firestar was killed by the same dog. In September Lily disappeared and I'm sure the coyotes got her. I miss them all. I've buried them under a nice tree and they all have solar lights. It's a pretty spot and next spring I'm planning on giving each cat a rose bush.
Thumper, the wild cottontail I took are of, is also buried here.
In addition, the dog killed another cat, Millie. Said dog is now gone. We released Twister and Fluffy, the other two cottontails. Twister decided he liked it here and stayed - one of my cats got him. Fluffy left and I hope he found more bunnies to be with.
