About me
The Braingels Fundraising Project was founded by a brain tumor survivor. As part of her rehabilitation from surgery, she was challenged to find ways to recover fine motor movement of her right hand which she had lost. She began beading and making jewelry and this project is the end result. Proceeds from sale of items on this site have always been to benefit organizations dedicated to the support, education and treatment of brain tumor patients and their families. To date, over $4,000 has been raised.
SPECIAL FUNDRAISER: Between the dates of November 9, 2011 through February 14, 2012 proceeds are to be donated to a fund to benefit Candice C. of Jupiter, FL. Candice is a 64-year-old Mom to 1 daughter and grandmother to an almost-3-year-old granddaughter and a grandson-to-be. She worked for 38 years in social services until her layoff and loss of all insurance benefits in 2010. She became seriously ill since losing her insurance coverage and underwent major surgery. Her diagnosis was Stage 3 Endometrial Adenocarcinoma and Neuroendocrine Appendiceal Carcinoma. She has just completed the 5th of 6 chemotherapy treatments and may have to undergo 5 weeks of radiation therapy. This fundraiser is to help Candice C. afford her cancer treatments.
