About me
If you're like me, then you cannot have too many pieces of vintage costume jewelry in your collection. Although I prefer Lisner's Lucite designs, Trifari, Corocraft, Mazer and other designers from the 1940s to 1960s, I am a true magpie: I pick up shiny, sparkling pieces no matter who designed them. If they are beautiful I want to keep them for a while, then pass them on to others who will enjoy them just as much.
Never under-estimate "junk jewelry", those pieces we saw in garage sales and estate sales in the 1970s. If you will compare it side-by-side with today's costume jewelry, you will often find that the American-made vintage costume (1920s-1960s) will be heavier, sturdier and more detailed than the imported items sold in department stores today.
My advice? Buy vintage and be prepared for the shower of compliments that will rain upon you!
