  Khangaboutique was created to introduce these beautiful fabrics to the mainstream American public and at the same time bring awareness of Tanzania and Zanzibar (the spice island) and its rich culture.

  East Africa's favourite rectangle cotton fabric has bold prints and vibrant colors with an interesting saying at the bottom.

  The khanga's (kanga)uses are almost endless. The fabric can make slings to carry babies with you, Khangas can also be used as wraps, sarongs, dresses, headscarves, skirts, beach coverups. They make excellent tablecloths, or can be hooked into beads and worn as accessories; sometimes they are made into bags, woven into shoes or used as car-seat covers. To get ideas of how to use these beautiful fabrics do a search on google of Khanga or Kanga fashion or email me and I will send you some pictures.

  I do microfinancing lending through Kiva.org. I set aside 10% of my sales and when my goal of $25 is reached, I fund the loan.
