Are there limits to hown many custom categories a booth can have?

I keep having sporadic problems with adding a new category to my booth. As in – Bonanza won’t let me. When at the edit Categories page, I click on “Add a new category”. Type in the new name. The radio buttons are greyed out (Yes / No) so it’s not possible to click “Yes”, but when my mouse hovers over “Yes”, the site jumps to the memberships page. Currently I have 24 categories. Bonanza hasn’t posted information if there’s limit to the amount of categories we can have. Does anyone know if there is one?

There is indeed a limit… I ran into this when setting up my booths. My actual website has 2500+ Categories. Bonanza doesn’t come close… and they don’t really post the limits anywhere. That said, their support staff is friendly and communicates quickly. Here is a response I received on this matter from one of their Tier 2 support people (I hope that helps!):
…………….

Good Day,

Thank you for emailing. Custom booth categories will not support 2500 entries. The CBC will become unstable at 100. Any thing over that may or may not work. Around 150 to 175 will be ignored and will not properly map. The Custom booth categories will need to be reduced to a lower number in order for the listings to properly map.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I recommend contacting Bonanza.

Here is a link where they talk about custom categories but there is no mention if there is a maximum allowed from what I can see.
https://www.bonanza.com/site_help/booths_setup/custom_categories.

Click the link above and go to the bottom of that page. There is a blurb that says this here:
“If this didn’t answer your question, try our new Knowledge Base”

The phrase “Knowledge Base” is a link within the above blurb.

Click on the Knowledge Base link then click the Seller button and then click the Other button and it will allow you to contact Bonanza that way. Of course there are other ways to contact Bonanza, too, but you’ll be on the one page reading about categories anyway.

When I was selling here there was a limit – I believe it was 75 – but that could have changed since I left. I have 968 on my own site – so needed a few more here – but not possible.

To Answer Brilliantly

Remember these tips:

  • Use links to other sources to support your opinions
  • Use examples where possible
  • Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?

Should I post a comment or an answer?

You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?

Post an answer for:

  • Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question

Post a comment for:

  • "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
  • When you would like the original poster to provide more details
  • When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
