Does bonanza still remind sellers to leave feedback?

I make it a point to purchase from Bonanza sellers whenever possible and always make sure to leave feedback. However, I find it rather frustrating that there are sellers that will not leave feedback for the buyer. We all know how important feedback is on both sides of the transaction. Just had to get this off my chest.

I like to leave feedback for my buyers. On Bonanza, I always go ahead and just leave it once the package ships out. On eBay, I still wait for the customer to leave feedback OR leave it once a few days have passed after I know the customer has received their package in the mail.

When I sell any items, there is a “reminder” that shows up in the top left menus on my Bonanza pages. I believe it is under the ACCOUNT > ACCOUNT DASHBOARD menu. That little colored circle with a number in it indicates that I have something going on with my sales. That includes any feedback that I haven’t left for a buyer or seller.

Since I use tracking for all of my packages, I always make sure that the item is delivered prior to leaving positive feedback whether or not I receive any in return. Unfortunately, I believe that many sellers – especially those who sell (or used to sell) on eBay – may withhold feedback until they receive feedback from their buyers. We all know that you can’t leave anything but positive feedback on eBay, but some sellers don’t want to give positive feedback first to a buyer who potentially could give them a negative rating. Those feeling about eBay feedback probably carry over to Bonanza.

What I don’t understand is a seller that doesn’t leave buyer feedback after they have already received positive feedback as the seller. Too busy? Dropshipper? Doesn’t know how? If a buyer has paid you on time, has not created problems for you during the transaction I believe that ultimately the buyer deserves to receive positive feedback. If the buyer was a PITA, changed shipping addresses, had too many complaints/requests, etc., then maybe you want to avoid leaving FB.

On the other hand, sellers will not (and should not expect to) receive feedback on every transaction. The buyers have a right to not leave feedback and, with a growing number of online transactions happening everywhere, they have become immune to leaving FB. IMO, that’s OK and I can live with it, but that’s because I already have quite a few ratings. Sellers and buyers who have a smaller number on record certainly want and appreciate feedback when given.

But, abigdogmom, I feel your pain.

You mean they are immune to leaving no FB, right :) I agree, back in the day when it was just eBay or at least close to that, eBay set the standard for that…now too many eggs in one basket for any one site to set a standard.

I’m just visiting, not able to stay right now. Did make it to Florida and getting into the swing of things. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Sort of suffering a price sticker shock from NC to FL

Oops, scratch the “too many eggs in one basket” in my comment….“too many eggs scattered in so many baskets” lol.

Empress, do you mean FL is more expensive than NC…. I would think it would be the opposite. Happy Trails to You.

Yes, Florida is more expensive. If I’m remembering right, when I moved from Florida to NC 13 years ago the prices were close to being the same other homes and land. If I could take the best of both states and combine into one, I’d love it

Other “than” homes and land

I ALWAYS leave feedback upon shipment. As far as I am concerned, the buyer fulfilled his/her obligation by paying on time. While it would be nice to GET feedback from the buyer, it just dont hardly happen here at all and getting even more common on the auction site to have the buyer NOT be leaving feedback (but Ebay really did ruin feedback by only having it be only positive for the buyer anyway.)

I always leave feedback, but sometimes I’m a little slow. I’m in Canada, so want to allow plenty of time for the package to be rec’d and to be sure buyer is satisfied. It would be nice to receive more, but as Tom says, buyers are buying a lot more online than ‘in the old days’, so I’m not surprised they don’t find / make the time to leave it.
