Who remembers their first sale on bonanza.

My first sale on Bonanza was for a vintage pair of pantyhose lol. They had an etching down near the ankles. I advertised them on the deals and promotions saying they’d be great to wear for the bride at her wedding. Well, that was the first time and the last time I got a sale that way but hey, it got me my very first sale and helped to inspire me. This was about 11 years ago I think in my old booth.

My first sale on eBay was for a Halloween ceramic box…I will not even tell u how I packed that sucker….as I think back to it now, I just do not know how it made it’s way to the buyer in one piece.

[URL removed] I had to put my booth back on vacation as it was a lot of work and time running down to the storage unit to then ship an item out. It’s been crazy since my move from NC to FL. Started full-time as a healthcare representative dealing in Medicare at a call center and I find that I feel overwhelmed in the learning process. I’m giving it my best shot. I really really really miss selling online….it’s my passion and hopefully something I can get back to soon but I know I will never be able to put the time in it like I used to. Sorry, this thread is about our first remembered sale. I got a little carried away in sharing what I’ve been up to.

I sure do. It was a trinket box in April 2011 a little less than a month after I joined Bonanza.

Father time, your words are inspiring. Thank u. Hi Brenda. Nice 2 c u. Sorry to hear about your Cindy. How did she like

EmpressDepot says: January 19, 2020

Like doing Medicare and then on top of that being at a call center? I do like working behind the scenes, do that part is nice.

MommyOf2QTs says: January 19, 2020

Congrats on your new job. I’m sure once the learning process finishes (you should be an expert in no time!) you will be able to get back into online selling.

Thank you, Wanda. I appreciate what u said.

What a fun and interesting topic. I remembered the item and buyer but had to look up the date.

I opened my booth on 04/05/09 and my first sale was on 04/25/09. I sold a pack of Yankee Candle Car Jar Air Fresheners with free shipping!

I like Yankee candle. Sometimes u just wonder why some one buys something of good quality does not use it and then gets rid of it…especially candles.

My first sale here was actually lost in the mail. That or they never scanned it as delivered. Buyer said they never got it and had to refund the whole transaction. Maybe should have taken that as an omen here but with well over 1500 trans between here and other places (mostly other places), the PO has not lost another item on me. They damaged one (an irreplaceable Working Zenith Transoceanic tube radio from the 40’s) but I had that insured so got my money back (except the $27.00 in postage).
I think PO should have picked up the postage since they damaged it in the first place but they dont which is so wrong. Buyer sent me pics and item looked like it was dropped (TWICE) from a height of 30 feet up. Totally destroyed.

It is annoying that the PO doesn’t pay the postage cost. After all, you paid and they didn’t do the job. They can hardly say that they delivered as required!

EmpressDepot says: January 19, 2020

Lol but ouch on the first sale. I was just thinking what u said about the omen before I read where u mentioned it.

This booth was my first booth here..opened to sell a very large group of teddy bears that I inherited (close to 900)…my first sale was from someone who purchased a bear from me on ebay (I decided it would be too much of a pain to sell them all there so joined bonanza in Jun 21, 2009), she asked about others, and I said that the bears will be listed on Bonanza from then on..

She came here day after I opened the booth on July 1 (did not open until I had about 50 listings) and bought 6 bears…also note she returned several times in the following years and bought many, many more

July 2, 2009

Due to illness, I closed this booth for awhile and am slowly getting it up and going again…

Even though I am a member of ebay. since 1998…made some purchases, the first thing we (my husband and I) sold was a playstion 2 brand new. We had bought one for the kid (husband), and then I won one in a contest…we sold that one in May 2000..we sold things sporatically afterwards, until I decided to sell eslewhere…

That’s a great story, and what a good customer. It’s nice to have repeat buyers who appreciate your wares.

CindyBear says: January 16, 2020

thanks…it really was nice those first years, learning how to do feeds and all the rest….I checked her ID and she has not been back since her last purchase from me..

CindyBear says: January 16, 2020

and there are some others who still stop by on occasion and get a bear or something else from my other booths

tomwayne1 says: January 18, 2020

@CindyBear… I read your last comment too fast and thought you said “stop by on occasion and get a BEER.” Was going to come by until I read it again. LOL.

EmpressDepot says: January 19, 2020

6 bears had to of been a high dollar sale as I know a lot of your bears have sold well….and a nice sale on a win. I like that.

EmpressDepot says: January 19, 2020

Lol on beer.

CindyBear says: January 20, 2020

tomwayne…LOL…Sharon..yes I was ecstatic..my first sale here was approx $800…those bears though they sold for quite a bit then, they still never sold for anything near what my MIL paid for them

CindyBear says: January 20, 2020

oops sorry that one was $400..then one I got in Oct that year was $800

I don’t remember, so I looked it up. My first sale was early 2009, and it was an adult fruit costume pattern. Pattern made costumes of raisin, banana, and strawberry! :)

I don’t remember my first eBay sale, but I’ve been gone from there since 2008. It was probably some books.

That is an interesting sounding item. I wonder where they wore the fruit costumes….

I had to look it up, though I do remember the joy that the first sale brought me. It was December 15, 2008 (3 days after I joined Bonanza) and I sold a box of Prismacolor Art Stix -Woodless Colored Pencils for a total of $10. I accepted an offer from fellow Bonanzler Memaws16 (who was last active on Bonanza in 2013).

I remember Memaw. Those must be tough to come by OR expensive…I sold some on Etsy but they were not woodless

McCoy Quarter Pound Covered Butter Dish, 1960’s. Sold 12/09/11. I also had to look it up. Can’t believe I didn’t remember such a tremendous event! haha

Thanks Glodeo. I’m trying. Some of the people I trained with have the same team lead as me. When we first found out she was our team lead, she held a meeting with us and she told us she had been in the military..we were like oh, carp…and it has been just that so far. I’m…
