Just wondering if this happens to everyone, and what caused the [URL removed]
When I list a book for sale, approximately every third one I list (give or take) gets an immediate red dot that says it has to be reviewed. Last month I received a notification that a book I’d had in my booth for seven years (!!!) was removed for violating a prohibited items policy. It was just an old paperback and obviously it hadn’t sold in seven years, so I didn’t invest any time in pursuing the issue.
This isn’t a huge deal to me since I’m not primarily a book seller, but of course a lot of sellers make their living off of books. So, this morning when I listed a copy of the no-big-deal novel “The Girl on the Train” and got the immediate red dot for review, my curiosity kind of peaked and I thought I would ask here.
Did something happen? Seems like it’s been maybe a little less than a year that this has been going on. Did an issue arise regarding the selling of books, something I never heard about?

Thanks for reaching out! Bonanza recently updated our ebook listing policy to ensure that items on our platform are not in violation of copyright infringement. When situations of copyright infringement arise, we do our best to take action as soon as possible. In certain cases, the copyright requires us to remove all infringing items currently on the site, as well as prevent future items from being posted for sale. Depending on the type of book you are selling, our team may need to manually review the listing to ensure it is compliant with our policies before it can be posted for sale.

Now the topic tells us something about Why have listings for books come under extra scrutiny lately as the information can be gathered from papers writers removed] as soon as they want it. We hope that the data given there was really helpful for all of us to look at that.

Interested. Wasn’t a book, but an item I had for a few months got the red dot. Never understood why.

had a few lately too..it usually clears in about 24-48 hours…
First thing I do is check to see if the book is listed on bonz by anyone else..if it is I wait a few days and it shows up…
If not then I send a message asking for clarification.
I was told once that an edit of an older item may trigger the review (also had listings that were here for a while go red dot right after an edit)…again those usually clear and are listed a few days later. These were actually toys (action figures) and not books
The only thing I can think of is that more and more words are triggering the automatic reveiw system….like if the story is a murder mystery (murder/kill might trigger a review)…
had one of Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum mysteries trigger a review a few weeks ago..

Could also be (possibly) that if you listed something that was ‘prohibited’ in the past, you may be on a watch list now (or what I call double secret probation) and get some extra scrutiny on your items. They will never tell you this if it is the case and I also think this hurts your views and hense sales here.

At one point, on another site which I believe no longer exists, I was listing a best-selling novel called, "The Help.’
Kept booting it off. Turns out that their crack computer geeks had created a code that automatically arbitrarily determined that the word Help could only be used when a poster was asking for assistance. The only way they could recommend my listing it was to not anywhere at all use the word help.
And they wouldn’t budge.
I left the site.

There is a lot of censorship these days, such as the story of the “black death” I read the other day, which was not easy to get. In addition, I also read a lot of essays on the subject of this really masterpiece. You can also read and read it in detail here [URL removed] .
