This week’s game phrase

I had to post the phrase again. I wonder how many people see the first part of the phrase with apologizing and have to look what I have to apologize for :-D

I am debating to have all words starting with vowels and Y.
Hmmmm Have to think about it.

I’d like to buy a Z – so many nifty words like drizzle and dazzle and puzzle. Oh, but we don’t do that in this game, do we! Darn.

LOL

Hello and happy Good Friday to all

Fun phrase and I agree with Carolyn. Another Z would add to the exercise fun.

Tomorrow is Easter with Bob’s mother and family at the assisted living hoe.
Sunday is Easter with my family and my 10 week old new great nephew.
New baby carries on a family name as he is Dawson Jon.
Dawson was my father’s and my brother’s name AND his father’s middle name.
This little guy is so cute. I can hardly wait to meet him.

My daughter has a favorite word – it has to be said out loud to appreciate it the way she does.

It’s rutabaga. RUUTAABAGGGA.

I never would have thought about adding that word to a “favorite” list, but………the more I hear her say it, the funnier it sounds.

A word that haunts me from back in my high school days – but only if your say it out loud: it’s “chicanery.” One of my very good friends always pronounced it as: “chicken ary,” and every time I see the word, I think of Sharon. We never teased her about it, either.

I’m doing Easter dinner – as usual, and enjoy doing it.

On another note, I’m finding that people are buying more expensive items on the internet – at least from me on another site. Maybe they got income tax refunds? If they are craft people,, perhaps buying their supplies all in one fell swoop? Who knows.

I had one really weird experience with a buyer. My policy has always been that, if you buy something from me and don’t like it, not only will I take it back, but I’ll also refund the amount it cost you to send it back.

My reasoning is: Why should you spend any money whatsoever on item you decide you just don’t like?

Always worked for me.

…..Until last week. had a buyer. She bought some beads. Didn’t look at the picture. Didn’t read the description. Just decided….she didn’t like them. Okay.

I sent her back the shipping cost. She had a real hissy fit.

I can’t even believe this. She was absolutely insulted. I had suggested she couldn’t afford to pay for shipping, and she wasn’t about to accept any charity from me.

She got really nasty about it.

Okkkkkkkkkkay.

Carolyn, love your energy and enthusiasm preparing Easter dinner.
I’m pleased to be invited out this year.
Yes, I am cooking and taking a couple dishes but even then there will be no real fuss or muss and only a little help cleaning up at my nephew’s.

Bette, think you are right.
My Beau seems less interested in catnip.
Could be he needs a fresh batch.

First to wish everyone formally

Did you get some peeps this year, Bette?
Seems I remember they are a fave.

Happy Easter!
Happy Spring!
Happy, happy everything!
Have a wonderful Easter Sunday, friends.

Happy Easter!
Wow! I guess that just proves you can’t make everyone happy no matter how hard you try.
Spent the last three days training at regional fire school. Learned about fighting structure fires with limited resources, and setting up tanks and running tenders for fires without water supply.

There’s a similar word, Joyce, mostly known to geologists – druzy.

I like that word. Don’t recall ever using it, though.

Bette!!! Oh, My Goodness, as soon as I read this week’s phrase I laughed, and also I remembered Jan would have just LOVED This week’s phrase too!!!

Popping in to let some peeps who might Celebrate Easter…

NOT photoshopped, there are really bunny rabbits that are HUGE! Like below or even bigger. . .

True Story…when we were very very young, our Aunt brought us baby chickens (chicks) for Easter gifts. . .they came in 4 different colors (there were 4 of us kids) my chick was the ‘’only one not dyed’’ and was yellow. . .
They grew pretty fast, and so dad and mom took us on a road trip ride to PA (we had never been out of OH previous to this trip) where their friends owned a farm and we brought our grown up chickens with us, and left then on the farm to grow with the other chickens there…Libby and Joe’s farm became one of my favorite types of vacation, we only went for an overnight usually, and we didn’t go every year. . .they had a cat who would gently carry baby chicks around in her mouth. . .
they had a HUGE bull he was very scary looking but was a gentle giant in actuality. . .it’s where I learned to milk a cow, also how to help make applesauce. . .
Easter time is around the time we’d go to Libby and Joe’s farm in PA. . .I have fond memories, today. . .Hope you have some too or are still making some fond memories for you and yours!

I don’t know if they still dye baby chicks or not, I would think this may be banned in some areas too. . . I mean it can’t be good for the chick. . .

This week’s phrase is
I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE TO ANYONE I HAVE NOT YET OFFENDED. PLEASE BE PATIENT,
I WILL GET TO YOU SHORTLY.

Sunday: A BEAUTIFUL DAY. Warm, Sunny, A little wind

  • I cut down 3 6-10" round, 20 feet trees down and trimmed back the 4th one that will be cut down.
  • I dug holes for “garden décor” posts.
  • I manage to move/roll/drag an old tire planter with all the dirt in it to the terrace garden.
  • 6 1/2 gardens have been weeded.
  • One tick and it was on me.
  • Blue got to go outside today with Fletcher. He did pretty good.
  • Brought in another batch of fresh catnip.

Other than that, I did nothing.

So you had the whole day off, except for your list of things you accomplished?! I swear you get more done in one day than I do in a week, Bette!
I never knew bunnies could get that big, Dee.There is a tiny wild cottontail bunny that lives in our yard. We only see it occasionally.
I am helping with the costumes for Diana’s ballet studio year end performance of “Winnie the Pooh”. Got the shaping done for a Tigger tail (made of a pool noodle) now just need to find some tiger like fabric that will match the costume to cover the tail.

Charlotte, I totally agree. Bette is unbelievable.
Today I worked attempting to get together things for neighborhood garage sale May 10th 11th. So much stuff to gather, price and then to display it hoping to rid myself of at least some of it. Another neighborhood sale is planned for Sept. What doesn’t sell this tome wll be ready for next time around and THEN to goodwill, I guess.

Carolyn, druzy is new to me. I’ll use it TYVM.
My list of words all 5 letters or more and must contain a Z is now at 243. I am starting to doubt if my list will grow to my 500 goal. I may have to say the work has to use a K or a Z. Maybe then I could get the job done.
Only a single R makes so many good words unavailable.

Dee, I remember the days of the colorful little chicks.
Quite a memory reminder.
Family vacations trigger lots of memories for me, too.

Off to add “druzy” and see what else I can think of…exercise, brain exercise

This week’s game phrase.

  • Yesterday morning, I transplanted plants to various gardens and from the one that will disappear this year. It was suppose to rain and I wanted them watered in. There was lots of lightening late night but now a lot of rain. Hopefully this morning, there will be some rain.
  • I was trying to figure out what trees to order to replace the ones I have taken down.

WOW! Carolyn, should have stopped here before turning in my list. I missed a couple of those. Most disappointing is I missed “klutzy”
My list wound up including words with either a K or a Z in them and KLUTZY counts double for my personal challenge.
KUDZU is another with both the K and the Z
what a week!
This caught my eye as it reminded me of our friend, Jan and her giraffes…..fun kidder she was.
……………………..
Jan was always very colorful, too.

Charlotte, Tigger can have any color tail he wants – just pretend it’s his Halloween tail!

Or, or course, you can paint the tube tail with orange and black stripes – maybe add some flowers, just for the fun of it!

Selah, for your own sanity’s sake, maybe you should abandon your lists by alphabetical first letter BEFORE you get to Z!

Z as a first letter is really really hard to find…..unless you want to do your list in Russian – I kind of think they have more words starting with Z than the English language ……..

And, besides that, since I don’t think we have any Russian linguistic specialists playing, nobody would know if you made up the words or not!
