I like that saying “Everyday is Earth Day”". Congratulations on your kitties first b’day!!! It’s also my kitty’s 6th b’day. Easy to remember! Great list Audi …… from quadrina :)
Thanks everyone! I like that saying too, quadrina.. very true! Happy Earth Day Birthday to your kitty as well >^..^< Vintage, I wish they would too in more states. In CA Cities and Counties adopted plastic bag ban ordinances. All retail stores are prohibited from using single-use plastic carryout bag. Paper and reusable bags are allowed with a minimum 10 cent charge each. We bring our own bags, we have fun cool ones LOL :D
Thank goodness the plastic bag ban is here in New York too. It certainly helps the environment. Now plastic straws have been added to the banned list. Every thing helps!!! ….. from quadrina :)
Hi quadrina, I’m glad NY is doing the same. Personally, I think plastic straws should be banned. They’re harmful to the environment and also many of them land up in the ocean and are deadly for marine life. They used to use paper. Now you can buy bamboo and even glass ones that are reusable.
Hi mymomsbooks, glad you stopped by. Your magazine looks very useful, not only helpful for the environment but saving money at the same time… I think we all like that ;)
Thanks for adding one of my designs to your list. I also have another patch that I think would be perfect also, it’s called “Ice Cream Cone Melting Earth”.
Thank you for adding my twigs, birdfeeder, & tumbled glass. Did I tell you I got a new tumbler? This is a REAL tumbler, not a case vibrator which is what I’ve been using.
The glass turns out with rounder edges in the tumbler.
As you know, I’m a huge ‘reduce/reuse/recycle/reporpose’er.
The thing I started doing this year is NOT buying anything in plastic containers. I got a juicer, so I can make my own juice.
I’m also trying to lower my use of any packaging.
~I’m making all my stuff from scratch.
~And I’ve even planted grapes last year so I won’t have to buy jarred jelly for the orioles! ~I grown my own tomatoes for sauce (use only the herbs I grow in the garden). ~I use a Tupperware to pack my partners sandwhich for lunch (and for his fruit). ~I buy a real potted tree as a Christmas decoration, so I can plant it in spring. ~I buy USED clothing, small appliance, and books. I give everything away ~instead of throwing it away if I feel someone could use the item. This includes the styrofoam that comes with the lunch meat my partner buys for his lunches and the clear plastic containers he gets from the Chinese restaurant when he orders. ~I quit frequenting take-out because the restaurants use non-degradable materials to pack the meals. ~I bought a metal straw off Etsy. Wash and reuse! ~I use reusable feminine hygiene products. ~I got my partner fixed so we won’t have to use condoms anymore. ~I use metal tin lids as bases for my potted plants. This eliminates the need to buy plastic to catch the excess water. ~Instead of buying free weights, I made some out of used plastic juice bottles (my partner still buy s crap in plastic bottles, but I nag him about it.) and metal washers, rocks, nails, etc. and water to make my own.
Oh, I do so much.
Hi QM :) Yes!!! You do a LOT and good for you, you help make our world a better place!! These are all great ideas.. I giggled at some :D There’s so many crafts that can be made from items we would normally throw away, I know you utilize everything to the fullest! We do a lot of these things as well, gotta do our part in trying to make a difference. We want our children’s children’s children… to still have a world worth living in!!
CONGRATULATIONS Audi on making the Home Page!!! This list sends such an important message and is so well deserved to be chosen for the Home Page ……. from quadrina :)
Any thoughts on other ways that we can help protect our planet?
