Revered in Asia and across the world, Kwan Yin is a powerful female goddess. She symbolizes compassion – mercy – and kindness. This Kwan Yin is depicted in a burnished old bronze finish – which adds depth and sophistication to the design. Sculpted cold cast bronze with bronze powder mixed with resin the figure is hand-painted to give it an antique look. The moon is a key element of this design, and is a cherished symbol of Chinese culture and mythology. The moon symbolizes family unity. Each year, China celebrates the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival with family reunions. Part of the Heart Sutra is engraved on the front and back of the moon which is "The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom".
