Here is a CLASSIC, VINTAGE FISHER PRICE #503 OCCUPATIONS PEEK UP 'N PEEK PUZZLE for your inspection.  This puzzle consists of 8 pieces, each equipped with a yellow peg.  The pegs are designed to help little fingers easily remove the pieces from the puzzle.  Manufactured between 1972-76, the puzzle highlighted professions that were deemed "suitable" in the mid-1970's.  While many occupations are no longer gender specific, this puzzle reflects the morays of that time period.  Given that this puzzle consists of single pieces that are not inter-locking, it makes an ideal first puzzle for 2-5 year old children.  All of the pieces, when removed, have an underlying litho which defines the activities that are typically associated with a given profession or occupation.  In my opinion, this puzzle is in EXC++-NEAR MINT condition.  The only "flaws" I can ascertain are:

1.  A few shallow "dings" adjacent to the ballerina;

2.  A couple of minor "chips;"  one is located next to the police officer's outstretched hand and the other is under the moon next to the astronaut's helmet.  These are barely visible and to not afford any danger to a child playing with the puzzle.  Neither do they detract from the overall appearance and function of this puzzle;

3.  A minor scratch on the nurse's hair;

4.  Some minor edge wear on the fireman's hose and feet and on the right edge of the moon.

The interior lithos are GORGEOUS!  They look brand new and are free of any rubs, stains, punctures, marks etc.  They have retained their vivid colorations and whimsical graphics.

As you may have discerned via one of my photos, this particular puzzle was produced in Holland.  There are some remnants of some kind of glue (one spot and several streaks) on the back of the puzzle. Once again, these are not visible while the puzzle is being played with or while it's on display.

This is a FANTASTIC puzzle for early language development, eye/hand coordination, and extending a child's attention span.

This solid wood puzzle exemplifies Fisher Price's reputation for durable, classic toys.  The puzzle weighs 1 lb., 4 oz. UNWRAPPED and my location is Lafayette, IN (47905).
