WHAT IS YERBA MATE?
Yerba Mate in a strict sense "is the product formed exclusively from leaves, tender segments, petioles and peduncles of the Ilex paraguariensis tree partially dehydrated and crushed".
It is a completely natural ingredient that is obtained through the processing of the leaves of the "Ilex paraguariensis" tree, in a totally ecological way, whose quality depends directly on the quality of its leaves and processing; and that it does not receive any chemical treatment at any stage of its production and processing.
It has a slightly bitter taste with an earthy taste.
The yerba mate is used to prepare a cold drink called terere. The terere is an ancient drink based on yerba mate, water and a lot of ice. In Paraguay, terere is drunk at any time - day and night - but in the morning refreshing and medicinal wild herbs are added, which in the Guaraní language are known as poha ro'ysa.
