??~ABOUT THE 2000 McDonald’s Promotion~??

The 2000 Happy Meal promotion at McDonalds ran from June 13 through November 9. There were several different phases of this promotion. The regular Happy Meal promotion (packaged in plastic bags) started on 13 June with 18 animals. Those came in five different categories; Pet Pals, At the Zoo, Garden Bunch, Under the Sea and Top Secret. The two Top Secret Teenie Beanies were released on June 29. They were considered "Top Secret" because their Beanie Baby counterparts were being released around the same time. The first two Teenie Beanie Babies released in this promotion (Lips and Slither) had a game piece inside their bags for a chance to win a $25,000 scholarship.

June 13 also saw the introduction of the Superstars, 10 additional Teenie Beanie Babies in four categories. Each could be purchased for $2.49 with any food item. The Superstar categories were the Dinosaur Trio (June 13), the International Bears II (June 20), the Legends (June 29) and The End Bear (June 30).

There was a total of 32 Teenie Beanie Babies throughout the year for this promotion, plus one McDonalds employee crew exclusive of Millennium. The 2000 Teenie Beanie Baby promotion was accompanied by similarly themed Happy Meal bags, McDonalds signs and other McDonalds items.
